A Green 16th Celebration with Sue Sue

Well, this day has been all backwards and that is how this post is going too...all out of order.  So I guess we'll start with our evening....we had a wonderful "green" celebration with Sue Sue in honor of Hailey's Sweet Sixteen.  It was delicious!
Ash's menu says it wasn't as green as I was planning, but everything had green in it so that counts for something.
Our post dinner show...Shelb playing her solo.
I love this violinist no matter how non-focused she is :)
A 16th bday treat masterpiece!  Bye bye cakes and hello ice cream sandwich cake that too my 5 mins to make.  Yumm. It was green too--mint!
Blurry pics thanks to me accidentally taking video, but I love how the sibs help.
 So cute.  They love her.
Love these kids...and Shelb too...not sure where she was...apparently not helpful with candles :)
Trying to make up his mind if it was yucky or not...
This will teach her to just let me take a nice pic....otherwise you get a warped head pic :)
I love this one...also a nice "come on, Mom" pic!
Loved hanging with Sue Sue....she's a wonderful aunt.
The green gang...I know they hate my photo sessions, but I treasure pics of them all...even if they are rolling their eyes at me :)
And the beginning of our morning....poor Hays had to get early and head to the doc for a physical for Boston Ballet.  Poor Lo...he was bored and not in good spirits.
Hays ended up not feeling well and Lo started to get worried...or he was mad about something...but he looks worried for his Hayeee...
 Lunch with bro!
He kept hugging and kissing him so we could get fruit snacks!
We also ate lunch with our Shelb....she tried this uncrustable thing even though she had a pb&j in her lunch box.  She's funny.  This all coming from the girl who wouldn't eat bread a month ago. Weird.
I had a helper at Sam's...I love him. He loves to help with the "credit cards"
He got in trouble for zapping too many labels....poor kid.
Awww, melts my heart....he just wanted to be with his Hayeee...
She wasn't feeling well, but she did the laundry for us.
What a good daughter...I feel special having a New Yorker do my laundry.
My green-bean-girl :)  Helping with dinner...
 The party gang...
 All set for green!
 Goofing around....
Sharing croutons with Sue Sue.  She had to lay down the law about not eating them all...tough love.
Thank you, Sue Sue for the awesome salad! Yummers!
I tried something new with bread...made 4 leaf clover rolls...they actually turned out.  Most of my food ideas are a flop.
My gang playing a game...these are the times I long for...just laid back times.  Wish we had more time for this....

That was our day...a full day....a rainy day...poor Hays is sick with either allergies or an ear infection. But we had a wonderful night celebrating with Sue Sue.  Now time for bed.

A busy Wed. with our Hays...

Well, I think Hays is lovin' joining our world again.  She gets to be the stay-at-home-sister she has always dreamed of :)  Well, that's what we're going with at least! :)  She got to have the most exciting lunch with her littlest sis today.  Ash loved it.  I think Hays words were "that was boring".  Gotta love teenage honesty!
How can you call this bunch "boring"? :)  I think a 10th grader fits right in with firsties :)
We even caught a glimpse of Shelb's first day of roller skating in PE.  Now THAT is excitement!
We then went to our second lunch...this time we ate...yummy Chipotle with daddy!
Then we went shopping for some clothes for Hailey's two parties this weekend...we didn't have much luck...but Logan did get into a nice box of batchelorette stuff at Francescas! Just what every 3 year old boy needs!
Out like a light, but not at all relaxed....poor kid.
I did get to go to Kroger all my my lonesome self while Hays babysat a sleeping brother...but I came home to this...oh happy boy.  Not even his Hayeee could cheer him up!
Well, we worked on this violin solo a lot today.  We skipped strings this morning at school for it....we practiced in the van....
...and we finally got our chance to play it....and she did well...I was proud of her. I know it's a tough piece, but I also know she'll be awesome playing it in a week and a half.
Good ol' biggest sis was on violin duty too...we need her around more often!
And we finished the evening with a red carpet celebration for Hays.  I am not sure Hays was amused but her sibs had fun :)  More pics to come another day....I need some zzzz's.

Unrealistic expectations

Well, I am slooooowly realizing that I cannot put so many things on my to-do list. I simply have no time and no concept of how long things will actually take.  I fall further behind every day and this just weighs on me. I try to set things aside...but when I am invested in things or have already spent time on them, it is hard to "let it go". Anyway...this is a post for another day...but since I sit awake here still...I am going to add pics to this post.  Loggy was a good boy today. He just took charge. He got his mat out and started playing. I think he may have dragged this down the stairs by himself.  He's Mr. Independent like all his sibs are!
Awww, I was going through more pics today and found this.  2nd Easter in FL for Hailey.  It's the same dress/hat she wore in the bunny/chick pics...but LOL at her face!  She had just eaten through a chocolate egg with the wrapper on so she was probably still chewing on it!  I remember this Easter well...great memories with my Grandma Fergie.  Miss her so....
It was another gorgeous day out.  We didn't even wear shoes and we just hung out on our front porch and did chalk and bubbles. I left the door open and he just played.  It was nice.
He spilled most of the surprise there.
He helped with my project for Hayeee...he's my helper!
He got his own sherbet...sorta...I helped.
 He scootered...
He fell...and then had to repeat and show me how he scootered and fell...(even though I was watching the first time) :)
He's my bud.  I am blessed to spend my days wit him.
He was pretty giddy when Nina Stegs stopped by...this was him doing his happy jig in the driveway :)
The girls liked the old pics of Hays...especially the naked one of her on the beach in the Bahamas :)
Oh and Hays...she was gone all with Nina...they loved to shop!  I think they went to Greenwood. I never even asked.  But she came home with lots of summer goodies!  Thanks, Nina!  Nina even let Hailey drive so she could get some more hours in.  Brave, Nina!
Shopping bags full of clothes and Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake for all of us for dessert...what could be better?  Nina spoils us!
Tough love at violin. We are 1.5 weeks away from our solo recital and still do not have our piece memorized.  Someone will be very busy for the next 10 days.
Another poor ballet pic....but it is the last time this week she will be here. I wanted to go up and take a pic of her dancing through the window (which I am sure she would have loved!), but didn't have time.  I think she has liked getting to see all her ballet buds and teachers this week.  This place will always be home.
Egg dyeing had to be done tonight...had we not boiled the eggs 4 days ago, I would have dropped this activity, but hated wasting 18 eggs and they were getting stinky in the fridge.  I do not like Easter in's already a too-busy month for us!
Loggy LOVED dipping and dyeing....probably too much...he kept redipping everyone's eggs.  I will have to post those pics later...they are on Kev's phone.  Hays looks oh-so-enthused to be doing this after a busy day....sorry, Hays!
They are a cute gang though...and I love them.

Been a hard day in lots of respects.  Shelb and I went to a funeral tonight of her friend's brother.  No one should have to lose a brother so young and no parent should have to bury her child. Such a tragedy.  My heart breaks for this family.  It'd be like us losing Hailey.  Cannot imagine.  Makes all the things we complain about daily, seem unimportant.  I need to learn to chill more and just cling to and hug my family and friends.  Life is too short.
