Back from our surprise adventure!

Well, we are home from our surprise adventure!  Very tired, but wanted to post a few pics of our bustling city times.  Above in us joining in the NYC St. Patty's Day festivities.  Wow, was it crowded here by Rockefeller Center. The parade had just started behind us.  We didn't stick around to see much bc it was pretty full of people...and honestly there wasn't much to see but hours of marching bands and military personnel.  Though I did like the bagpipes!
We surprised our Hailey...well, she surprised us too by getting back before we thought she would.  Someone was VERY happy to see her!  All he had said all morning was, "I want to see Hayeee NOW!" :)  He adores her!
Sweet Sixteen with our Hays...what could be better!?  We didn't see much of her, but the few hours we did were "sweet" for us :)
We had lots of laughs...it may not look like it but these goofballs had lots of fun together and really didn't argue at all til the van-ride home.  We might need to frequent NYC more often for this very reason!
Our fav. new park near Lincoln Center (and Hailey)...it was like a mini castle in Central Park. We played here twice...free fun and the kids loved it!
Proof that sometimes (most times?) Hailey is not amused (aka embarrassed?) by us.  She apparently is citified and we are too touristy for her.  I don't see what she's talking about. We aren't embarrassing at all (baby Shelby!) :)
We learned to eat on the cheap this trip. I am sure that is not what New Yorker Hailey liked, but I was happy with the food we found.  A new taco place by her school was our final destination. It was yummy and affordable!

Seriously...cheap/free thrills...chasing pigeons in Lincoln Center.  The birds of NY might never be the same after our visit :)

I know this was a crazy/not-well-planned trip, but so grateful we got to see our girl on her bday and watch her dance a couple times...and have some family times...good and bad...we made some memories and that's what life's all about!

Ok,I don't blame ya Hays....pretty nerdy folks! Hahaha But they are the best family ever and the LOVE abounds and that's the true spirit of FAMILY!!! Who wouldn't envy being in this family of goofballs!!! I know I am thankful beyond measure!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‡ and some of the goofiness just MAY have come from THIS side of the family!!! Just sayin!? Family is everything and these trips, albeit not perfect, are the stuff memories are built on! Trust me, someday when you are all working hard ( and Hays is already doing just THAT!) you will wish for these simpler times when it was all about holding your family close no matter what! The money means NOTHING without the LOVE !!!!!! Words of wisdom from Ol' Nina! Xo
