The Christmas busyness!

Those of you who know me know Christmas is my least fav holiday.  I don’t like all the fuss and holiday clutter, I don’t like cold, I don’t like shopping and wasn’t Jesus born in the summer?  But be that as it may I do my best to not be Scrooge-y. I’m often not very successful. But this year I’m knocking out the Christmas stuff.  It’s the day after thanksgiving (yes that’s still November!) and we’ve already been to rural king to get our cheap tall tree, been to the tree farm to get the kid tree, put up all our outdoor decorations and are almost done putting up our 3 trees, 5 kid trees and indoor decor.  Sometimes it’s mid dec before this is done.  We even fit in going to see frozen 2 at the tivoli.  It’s been nice.  Being sick for 4 weeks forces you to stay home a bit and not busy yourself with other stuff.  So while I don’t like Christmas I’m glad we’re almost done getting ready for it.  Now if I just didn’t have to shop for anyone I’d be sooo happy!🤪. I am so not a gift person. 👎

A wonderfully blessed turkey day!

I think this was one of the best thanksgivings. 🧡🦃 Not sure why but it just made my heart full.  I felt like we didn’t fret or stress about stuff much and the family tI’ve we had was quality.  Kev’s parents put on an amazing Cracker Barrel spread and while only half the family was there, it seemed like the perfect amount. And we had a restful evening of our own family/movie time.  Just feeling very grateful to have all my kids under one roof (last year we’d lost one to Germany).  And thankful for what God has given me.  It’s more than I could have asked for 🥰

Our Hays is home!

First time home from college!  Very anticlimactic bc we just saw her.  And bc she’s been so much farther away for like 4 years.  And we didn’t even have to drive to mi or go to the airport to get her.  Gotta love college friend carpooling!  We didn’t even make the annual “welcome home” sign bc mama’s been sick. Though Shelb did make her a welcome home cheesecake!  She got home around 7:30 last night.  Made herself a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and chilled. Now she’s working on hw due tonight.  What prof gives hw due this week???  And the middle kids and I spent 2 hrs at the laundromat washing 8 loads of laundry due to a broken drier. 😢oh joy.

Happy (Snowy) Halloween 2019

If there was ever a Halloween I wished to be back in ft Lauderdale it was this one 😂. Cold, windy and snowy.  Ugh.  But policeman Loggy (with his trusty police car wagon!) Hermione Ashley and Pineapple Shelby braved the elements (Dylan...not so much...he had b-ball practice during trick or treat hours, which might have worked in his favor bc he stayed thawed out at least!)
