Covid 209–cats and kids 🤣😹

That should be a book.  “Kelly and her cats and kids”.  If only I got paid for any of it!  I’d be a millionaire!😹🤣😹🤣😹

My days are much the same...but I actually can say for the first time in many years, that I like what I'm doing. I like being home. I like my kids being home half the time.  I don't feel totally drained.  This is my happy time anyway...I love October...not only bc of the leaves and the fallsyness....but bc we have NO bdays to think about for a few months...no parties to plan, no big things on the agenda.  The weather was HOT today...85!  Dylan was out doing what he loves most...practicing ball handling.  It's his weakness and what his coach told him to work on.  He's the most teachable kid I know.  Love his perseverence.
I think these days at home are good for her. She multitasks...doing laundry and online class.
My fur-girl and I do the calendar together.  She jumps up here every day to help.  Love sweet Jewel-y!
Our prince...he blends right into our carpet...love him so much. You'd never know he was a feral cat.  He's so pretty :)
3 of our 4 garage cats...poor Nubee (black in back) needs a friend...but he's so not feral anymore that these crazy other ferals didn't give him what he needed.
I love fall drives around town
These stinkers got into all the Shopkins.  Ugh.  Now they are all over the house.  They were supposed to be put away bc I know they are a choking hazard. They are worse than toddlers.
Does she look excited about the church musical. She is not.  I won't go into detail bc I keep this blog public, but I'm not too happy about how parts were given out yet again this year.  I miss the days when our friends did the choir.  It was so fun back then.  Now it's full of favoritism and hurt feelings.  Church shouldn't feel that way. But Ash put on a happy face.  Love her courage!
Can you tell what he broke again...our poor lights...he's going to owe us 3 when he graduates!
Sweet orange kitten.  Melted my heart.
And Wendy from Wendys had to go back tonight.  Kinda sad, but that's what we do at Feral Cat Friends...TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release).   Maybe we'll see her again if we got to White Castle on Vday?  Be safe, little black kitty :)
Can you spot mama waiting for her orange kitten to come back.  So sweet.
Oscar loves cheese.  He's weird.  He's like a human.  He seriously comes running when I have cheese.
Our XC girl...ran twice today.  She's a trooper.  Love that she drives now bc it means less taxiing for me!  But she really needs to find a car.  Please someone sell the perfect CR-V with a sunroof near us soon!
My computer buddy for the morning.  She's our sweetest cuddler.
Sweet Wendy kitty...before she was let go.
I love fall. I notice it even at the roundabouts
So thankful for sweet friends...Logan's best bud, who happens to be a girl and his Nutella supplier, gave him the biggest bag of Halloween goodies at school. I know she had to sneak it to him bc they cannot get near each other or touch stuff from one another, but he was so thrilled.  He's glowing in bed tonight!
The girls loves patches thanks to Hailey and Isaiah.  She now has given denim bags to all her friends for their bdays and is stocking up on patches to sew on to them and her jeans, etc.  It's a new trend I guess?
Going to Goodwill is also her fav. I used to cringe at this.  I'm not a fan of secondhand.  But she has found some amazing bargains on nice clothes!
The quarantine-r...3 more days and he's free!
Brushing up on her singing skills for choir...blah
Making a smoothie with her friend on facetime.  Makes me kinda like these home-school days.  Since they are banned from crossing paths at school and xc (due to covid concerns for the team), they facetime often.  I love the creativity.
And oh how we love our 4 fur babies.  Life would be dull without them!

Life is good.

Covid 208—more cat trapping and life

Well, why is life so full even amidst the slower lifestyle?  I can't quite figure it out.  But I know part of it is the ever changing stresses of covid.  No matter if I'm not working at preschool and half the kids are home for school, it's just not as laid back as I had hoped.  I really thought I'd have all this free time this year to get my act together.  LOL, I should have known better!  The day was a blur.  Not very much sleep at all...and a kiddo that didn't want to go to school today so stayed home half the day.  One still in quarantine for a few more days.  Kitties got new collars, which they were less than thrilled about.  Dylan had to get out of pjs's and take a pic for a film festival that he won (and then had to do a review for, which is a very cool honor I guess).  Logan had a rough end to his day and fell out of his chair at school and hurt himself.  Hard to tell he had been crying til he took his mask off. And he was mad I wouldn't go to scouts with him (next time, Buddy!). Shelb had xc and virtual violin (not sure why she had to dress up?). Dyl still very determined to make the north bball team...he's missing practices bc of quarantine, but pretty stellar in practicing his drills at home.  Hailey got her "homecoming" gift from us...thanks, Calvin, for this fun idea!  And Ash and I and our trapping friends were out again tonight trying to catch kitties the the restaurants!  We got Wendy (at Wendys) and Bobbie (at Bob Evans)...a mommy and her kitten.  Sorta sad we have to release them back today. I don't like putting kitties back at locations like this.  But we support TNR (trap, neuter and release).  Ash...not much going on today with her (up early for her least fav--virtual strings/cello...she is not a fan...but the kitties keep it interesting :))...and she is loving bball and ready to start volleyball.

Covid 207–this and that Monday

It was a Monday! Nothing very exciting or dramatic to share… Two highschoolers home… Two elementary kids at school. Shelb running cross country after school...With rumors of a cross country kid or two who might have Covid . Logan doing his soccer class at the Y and scoring half the team goals.  He likes to be a hot shot! 🤣Ashley trying something new… Her first night of basketball. She loved it. And considering she was the only one who had never played… She actually looked quite good. Dylan’s coaching is paying off. 🤣 So we’ll see how this goes. And of course the life of a cat trapper can’t ever be still… off to White Castle to trap some ferals! Now my van smells like tuna again😜 Also got a few fun pics of Ashley at hilltop campus this weekend from my friend… Look likes she had a ton of fun! Kev had his follow up hand appointment in Indy and has his next surgery scheduled and a fun new brace on his hand. I think his doctor was more concerned about his cat bite than his hand recovery LOL. And I’m loving all the pretty trees turning red around our hood.  I was grateful for a quieter Monday to rest my brain a little. 🥰oh yes...and Shelby is looking into starting cat yoga.  Today we tried Rudy yoga; he liked it!😹
