Well, we woke up to a little bit of snow on the ground. It was probably less than the above pic (which was from last Monday)...but I am kinda tired of snow, so I didn't take any outdoor pics today and now the snow is gone! YAY for that! Anyway...Lo and I have done absolutely nothing today. I am still in pj's and he has had a movie marathon of library movies. We needed a lazy day. Actually yesterday, he begged to go home when we were out and about. So I knew he would be happy being a homebody today. :) I do love our view from our master bedroom window. This day it was foggy too so we couldn't even see the road beyond the field.
We are struggling here with chores lately. Never any time or energy to get them done. But on snow days we try (or are forced to try)!
So glad daddy took this day (President's Day) off...worked out great that it was a holiday and also a snow day. He made some guac from some free avocados he got from a co-worker. We thought of Nina Stegs since we know she loves this green stuff. I could do w/o it. We still have 4 of these green things left in the fridge. Thankfully Kev and Shelb like them!
I attempted to take some pics of the 10 year old since he got this nice, blue shirt from Nina and Poppy Stegs. But he was too cold and not cooperative or excited about doing them outside.
Taking the new scooter out for a stroll in the snow! Toot toot, Thomas! Love that big boy's smile :) :)
Daddy played with us in the snow for the first time at the new house! YAY! We took advantage of this and tackled him with snow!
He got us back thanks to his snow-scoop (sled!)
hee hee...I'm sure he was glad to take the day off just to get pelted with snow!
Ash got him good a couple times!
Even Loggy did!
Daddy cannot lose...even if it means dumping snow on his 3 year old :)
I think he was aiming at me here...he missed!
Tee hee...had to make a nice snow-ballerina out of our clonehead and her scarlet slippers (which made the snow look bloody). Her outfit was v-day themed coincidentally :)
Our snow monkey :)
No idea what he was doing here....something about making his sled a catapult!
I know I posted this before, but our snow days are not complete w/o include a group pic with our cardboard Hailey :)
Trying to knocking the Hailey head off with a snowball. He was very focused on this!
YAY! He did it. He was cracking himself up when he succeeded!
Then our ballerina snow girl transformed into a snow-man! We had trouble finding good eyes....
So, the snowman turned into a snow-dog! Complete with Oreo eyes and a mini-oreo mouth.
We named him Oreo-the dog, since he was almost good enough to eat :)
Some quick sledding in the backyard. Last day with Milo Monkey...go Dyl!
Shelb was mad bc we ran out of time to do more sledding. We had to rush off to gymnastics and girl scouts. Bummer :(
And we had to do some party planning for D's Nerf shindig. Thank goodness this is all over now! This is pretty much how Lo feels about all shopping...even Lowes. It's "fun"!
Prepping for marshmallow guns and dart poppers.
Shelb did some baking at Girl Scouts. Yummy cream puffs/eclairs! They needed more sugar or some chocolate, but they were pretty good! I love her leaders. They are so creative.
Yay for being done with blogging before 10pm! I get worn out typing at night. I'd better get my rear off the couch and get some chores done. I cannot wait for spring. I hate feeling like a bump on a log in winter.
The wonderful, yet often hairpulling life story of a stay-at-home mom of five cuties (Hailey, Shelby, Dylan, Ashley & Logan) and the journey through life raising our family with the best hubby around (love you, Kevin), and enjoying the blessings God provides to us daily while trying to keep it all in perspective when bumps in the road arise!

The gloom of February is back :(
What a dismal day. I know Feb. is supposed to be like this, but I thought we were nearing spring and those gloomy days were done. Not so. I could have slept all day today. It was just one of those days where I could not wake up and could not warm up! I was freezing. Ugh. Sometimes I wonder how I survive here. My blood is tropical not arctic. Anyway....I digress. Here's a few pics of our not-so-exciting day. Can you tell we still have too many Nerf-related things laying around. I think Lo destroys about 10 darts a day so at this rate, we should be dart-free by March! :) The Mystery Machine is a great dart storage area!
Back to the library. We were not going to go but our playdate with friends got canceled, so off we went to Story Hour Extravaganza! I love how he has to check his own books and DVDs out. He's such a big kid.
There was a new kid at the train table. Lo was ok with him, but his mom was getting on his nerves. She kept messing with what Lo was doing. He likes to get trains purposely stuck on the tracks and she kept helping him. He was annoyed, but tried to be polite :) This is one of his glares :)
Attempting to be shy in the auditorium. It didn't last long. He actually liked story hour. It was the first time this school year. Last time he went was in Dec, and we almost left bc he was just too antsy pantsy. I guess two months of maturity helps!
LOL...he LOVED this book they read (or rather that they showed on a DVD)...he actually ran up to the stage to get it. He was so excited. It's a really cute book about a boy who is bored and his dad pretends to make him into a pizza :)
Seriously, he was giddy over it.
I love that my kiddos love the library. I loved it too when I was their age...I still remember when my Grandma Fergie took me to get my own library card and we would go every time I was at her house and check out books and then read them in her bed. It was the comfiest book reading place ever!
Best part of the day...lounging at home. I was not going to be home at all today so this was a welcome surprise. Except I was so cold, I could hardly function. brrrrr
It was a gloomy day....rainy and gloomy...
Then it turned to slushy snow. Lo was laughing at me bc it was collecting on my head :)
Snowy IU and our fav. violinist off to group class.
This is how we amuse ourselves during group class...and also probably why we have been sick for 4 weeks. Gotta love laying on floors in public places. It's how we get by....
Another exciting day in the Steg fam!

I love my days with this crazy kid!
I'm realizing lately how fleeting my days at home are with this sweet face. I am gonna be one moist-eyed-mama when he is in school full-time in a few years and probably even next year when I have no babies by my side two morns a week. But I know how fast time flies and it will be a blink of eye and we will be in that season where I am empty nesting (for the school day!). So cherish my days with my final son. I cherish when he puts a donut sprinkle on his nose and cracks up because it's the funniest thing in the world! It sure is, buddy!
And I will miss our library time...just finding simple joys in returning our books and movies into the cool conveyer belt return.
We even got into story time today. There was a new lady doing it and he really liked her! Usually he is not attentive at all.
We even talked to our trains today at the train table. We were in a pretty good mood!
I will miss watching him concentrate on the art of gluing and cutting. These are big things for little hands!
I will especially miss not having lunch with my girl any more after this year. Sigh. Middle School. No longer will mom be able to make fun of her and her bestie who just ate a blue cookie and now have blue teeth :) :)
And here we are...preschool open house tonight. We were a little shy at first, but we warmed up after the best snack ever...fruit snacks and cookies! Only the BEST schools have those sort of snacks! He was a fan after this!
We met our teacher too and she seems extra nice. She had pretty cool toys in her room...and her co-teacher is one of mama's best and oldest nursing friends....so that's pretty cool too :) I think it will be a great year next year, but only after mama dries her eyes and lets go a little :)

Happy to be back to normal days...
Well, it was meant to be a lazy day, but that just is never completely in the cards for us. I simply had to get up and get ready and run my boy to school...yep, it was officially the day to sign him up for preschool. My heart was a little bit sad to be doing this for the last time for my last child. And he was a little bit sad too. We had hardly turned the corner to get to church, when he mumbled, "I stay with you"...awwww, what can I say to that? A part of me wants him to stay with me forever. But I have to let him go. He was a little nervous I was leaving him today. Thankfully he has til mid-August to adjust to going off to school (and to get potty trained!). I love the above pic bc not only was the sun shining bright, but he was nervous...so the hand over the face was appropriate on a couple levels :) But he clutched his jet and was a brave boy :)
On the way out he took a better pic in the shade. Love this kid. Gonna miss him two mornings a week next year. I might shed a tear or two which I have never done with any of my kiddos...I will miss him being home full-time. He is my bud!
We celebrated preschool registration with a quick stop to McD's for an ice cream cone! Yumm! There was a funny employee lady who tried to talk him into letting her have some. That really creeped him out. He almost cried. He is not crazy about strangers...I am good with that! The lady did make it up to him by giving him two free happy meal toys. That helped.
We played on the playground too. The weather was lovely!
This one is for Hayeee...he was so proud he went up here all by himself! So high!
Cutest 3 year old I know! Love this boy!
And home for our fav. snack...chips and cheese! I'm gonna miss my "chips n cheese" boy next year! We'll make up for it on Tues, Thurs and Fridays!
He really resisted, but I finally got him to sleep. I had to hold his hand for an hour though before he gave up...and I think I slept for 30 mins before him. But when I woke up he was zonked out with drool running down his cheek...that's always a sign of a good sleep :)
LOL! No idea what they are reading on the screen above me...but they look captivated! This is our routine on Mondays...waiting for gymnastics to start. Since the gym is next to our school we are always the first people here. And we snack and chill.
Go Gold Ash!
My dinner...looked better right-side-up! I wanted to make this on v-day, but I was too busy cooking for sleepover girls. I am a big fan of cheesy eggs lately. They are my fav. meal. And you add in bacon and a pancake or bagel and I am good. Easy Monday meal, since Mondays are our crazy night!
Time for bed...new routine involves earlier bedtime. Also new routine involves free Sundays. After church we are doing nothing. We need a day off. Sad that we have to schedule a day off, but if that is how we have to do it, we will! Nighty night!
