Our day plus one

Well, our day seemed normal...except better. We had Hayeee...she was our "plus one".  Though she did sleep in, so we were lazy w/o her. I was only lazy bc I was forced to be...I thought I was having some type of allergic reaction, but I fear I may be developing hives...ugh.  I pray not.  But I had to lay down. The itching was getting terribly annoying.  Lo amused me and we watched Sofia together :)
At 10 it was time to get Hayeee up!  She did not want to get up!
But Lo talked her into it...with Mickey's help :)
We had fun at Hailey's dental appt...we built stuff and played...and I read about a wonderful ballerina whom we miss so much.  If my grandma Fergie had been a ballerina, I think she would have been like Violette.  Such a classy, cool, lady who lit up a room with her presence.
 Hailey helped with some racing...sorta...
Lo's new thing is to lick her.  I was trying to get a nice pic and all he wanted to do was lick her...sorry, Hayeee...I think he does it bc he loves her sooo much!
They had a fun game of racing around the house.
 Lots of racing...hee hee ::)
They shared a box of mac and cheese. We are all about fancy meals around here!  I am sure Hayeee does not miss her cafeteria at all, since we are so classy at the Steg home!
Not wanting me to get his gummy bears...so he was hiding them on his head :)
Then we settled down and played games...Hays played Mariocart and Lo played Disney cards with mama...
We got mail from our bestie girl...and a pic of her too!We love Sophie!
We got stuck in our hotwheels track...sad thing is we tried to do it again after mama got us out.
Getting in her driving hours....such a responsible 16 year old!
Big sis came to gymnastics with us...yay!
It was also bring a friend day...we brought one of our best buds from school!
The gymnastics fan club...minus D who was in the bathroom :)
 Crazy girls!
Taking selfies...Not sure what Lo was doing?
Big sis to the rescue with homework help...
 Working on our flips...
 Their little awards ceremony...go Ash!
Her special ribbon...and apparently since she has kept them all, she can get a free tshirt!
Waaaay too much candy...and this is not all of it.  Yikes. Sad thing is...I will eat most of it.  Not sure I need that....hmmmm....what to do...
Back at IU...I miss seeing this group of girls walk out...but I am not sure I miss the routine of adding ballet back in....I am good with where our girl is...but it was fun to see the gang with our girl again...
Love....at the end of the evening I found them laying together talking...not sure what about, but it was cute...something about Hailey "being a bad boy"...to which she said she "would make a bad boy bc she is a girl" :)

We are happy our home is full again.

Happy Easter Day!

What a wonderful, beautiful Easter day.  Not sure we have ever had such a perfect weather day.  Felt like 70 all day and super sunny...maybe even too sunny (is that possible?). We had a blessed day with family!  Love this Steg fam.
And rewinding...we had a great morning hunting eggs and just chillin'...wasn't long enough to chill really, but it was good to have us all under one roof :)
My Fav. Five!  We tried yellow this year as our color...something different and bright for this sunny day....
I made Hays a little Sweet Sixteen cake to celebrate with the family.  I am sure she probably didn't want any fuss and she's not a cake-person...but I wanted to do something special for her.  I loved the colors and how it turned out.  It was sinking a bit after being a few days old, but I think my girl looks so pretty next to it.  Love this Sixteen-year-old.
We had many failed attempts at family pictures...it is somehow getting harder to get 7 people to take a good pic....yet, we continue to try...
...and try....oh sweet sun...you are so nice and bright and warm, but you stink for Steg eyes :)
LOL....she has a lot of hot air for a 16 year old :)  Though 3 year old Rylee had to help her get the last candle out!
 hee hee...nice!
This is the almost-middle-schooler who wants to be a cheerleader now.  Heaven help us. She has her mother's form.
This kid meant business today with the egg hunt. He did not slow down for anything! :)

Probably one of our best Easters...best weather, great family, great celebration of the resurrection!

Our Easter Saturday...

Just a few pics bc this mama is whipped!  Quite a busy Saturday....cub scout rock climbing for the oldest boys, an egg hunt for most of the rest of us (veg time at home for Hays), a trip to see the E.B. and take some pics on this beautiful day, church, good food...and a wonderful evening of Balanchine ballet at IU!  Phew!  This mama is ready for zzzzz's and not at all ready for Easter...but ready or not...it is here. I'd be better get to bed or the E.B. will never visit here!

She's home!

Well, our NYC girl is now safely back in Indiana.  YAY, for her being home again!  She flew in on her normal late-night flight...and we were there to meet and embarrass her with signage :)
Hopefully she'll be slumbering well in her old bed tonight...and hopefully the 16 balloons floating above her don't give her nightmares :)
It's so good to have her home...it will not be long enough, but we will try to soak in all the Hays-time we can...bc she won't be home again til mid-Aug.  Love you, Hays...and Welcome Home Sweet 16-year-old!

Very tired...pics from the last 2 days

This mama is wiped...and not sure how I am going to make it through this weekend of busyness.  But I will somehow.  Here are a few pics of the last couple days.  Yesterday we met our fav. ballet moms at the park.  It was so nice out and the park was packed...but apparently that was for a toddler egg hunt...so once they cleared Lo had the place to himself. He really just wanted to go home (and kept asking), but I had some trains in my pocket and I gave them to him and it was like gold...he just buried them over and over again.  Good times. And I got caught up on my IU ballet news :)
We had a busy day of running errands after the park so we had to share nachos in the van. Not as fun as when chilling on the couch at home, but still yummy!
Group class...working on pieces for the recital the day after Shelb's bday!
A fun Easter analogy planned by Shelby.  She was asked to help with her core group tonight...so she came up with a couple ideas to portray the Easter message.  She did great practicing and took the job very seriously.  I love that her leader said she is a leader in the group and trusted her enough to help run things. Go, Shelb!  Anyway....my Wilton dye was too strong for this "sin" analogy.  The bleach would not work on it right away and wipe away that sin.
 So....
We came up with a back-up plan...to use grape koolaid!  lol.  It worked...and it smelled yummy!
Making yummy treats and enjoying the batter!
Ash helped me the most...she is my little baker.
And today was a mostly at-home day.  Lo built a really long train track and then put all his cars in his Batman house...all while watching Diego--his new fav. show.  I love this show bc it has been helping him with his speech...it asks you questions and then you have to repeat and he's been doing it all by himself.  Very cute and useful!  He might even learn to be bilingual :)
YAY...chips n cheese on the couch!  Best mommy-son snack!
All sacked out...I love how relaxed he is.
Practicing after school for her presentation tonight...
For some reason the Koolaid didn't work as well today....
LOL...he truly cracks me up with his sleeping habits :)
All ready to go...packed up our "sin presentation" and our resurrection roll ingredients.  And she did awesome helping run her meeting tonight.  Go, Shelb!
We raced off to the school for Math Night.  Lo wanted desperately to win these animal crackers...you had to guess the right amount. We guessed 208 (he wanted to guess 8, but I thought at least 208 had 8 in it!)
He was happy for half the time to just play in the noodles and find dinosaurs.  I need to do this at home...he loved it!
He made his own snack of all his fav. things and had to measure them.  Genius easy math!
They had this funny magician...he was great.  Ash and Dylan only had a chance to watch him and go to the Book Fair.  They never even got to the gym like we did.  Daddy was with them...
We didn't win the animal crackers, but we did win the bin of cheesballs!  We guessed 800 and there were 816...very close!  YAY for 8 numbers! Someone was giddy!  Actually I don't think he likes cheeseballs, but his sibs do!  They were happy campers!
The other two...crazy kids.  Poor D was mad bc daddy would not let him buy a book bc they had it at the library...our new motto. If the library has it, we don't don't buy it!

That's all I got.  Best news is that in 24 hours our NYC gal will be slumbering in our home again for 9 days!  YAY!
