Kids say the darndest things! :)

I don't usually post twice in a day, but I love some of the things Logan says lately, so I wanted to make sure I remembered them (since his baby book/scrapbook is non-existent) :))  Plus I thought his Hayeee would chuckle over these.  He is very creative in his thought process lately.  Here he is (above) helping daddy with pounding chicken tonight. Can you guess what he is using?  A "porcupine hammer" :)  Love it!  Makes sense to me!
And he found this awesome thing on the way to Indy on Hailey's bday!  It's a "candy cane with a cloud coming out of it" :)  LOL!  That will be how we know we are in Indy!  I wish all candy canes had clouds coming out of them! :)

Kids truly do say the darndest things :)  4 year olds are so funny sometimes :)

Sleepy Rainy Monday

Well, the day was mostly dreary and rainy.  There was some sun that peaked out, but not enough to lift my spirits. :)  But I must say I just decided that was a sign to rest.  I came home from dropping kids off at school...cleared my mind of "to-dos" and just took a nap.  And I slept good.  The kind of good where you never move and you wake up with the pillow marks on the one side of your cheek :)  I needed that rest. It got me through the rest of the day.  We had the best time at the park in between preschools.  Lo loves this park and we had it all to ourselves today.  We shared cheese bc we both love cheese.
And he just snuggled up next to me on this park bench and we ate and talked and bird watched. It was nice.  The weather was perfect...cool, but not rainy and nice and quiet.
Then we played hide n seek.  Loggy is pretty good at this on a playground where there is not a lot of hiding places.  Can you spot him?
So funny :)  He was a good hider and seeker!
I did stump him by hiding in the slide...but he slid down and found me :)
I picked up this middle schooler and off to SB we went...she was back to her normal drink...and then we raced her off to core group.  Turns out she was the only one that showed up.  But it was nice of her leader to still do the study with her :)  We were supposed to race off to track practice, but they canceled prob. bc it was supposed to rain, but it never did. Oh well.  We won't argue with an unexpected night off.

We actually had a normal dinner together...it was lovely.  Though there was lots of bickering over eating.  Apparently Shelby has now taken over the razzing of Dylan for his chewing...thanks, Hays!
Huge drama over eating one piece of chicken and one piece of corn.  The sob session was over the treat. He said at first he didn't care about the treat, but then when I set the whole box of fruit snacks on the table, he lost it.  He could not bear to not have them.  Mama knows what will get to him!
After fork feeding the corn and chicken to him, he won his reward...and he was so sweet to give us each a bag of fruit snacks too. He is such a honey!  He even saved one for you, Hayeee!!
Someone is getting ready to go to Honey Creek.  She was fighting wearing the bonnet, but we bought it years ago just for our girls to go here and she is the last girl, so she is wearing it!  I guess I forgot she really does not like hats.  She would have been one unhappy Laura Ingalls on House on the Prairie! :)
His 2nd treat that I promised him.  A frosty!  Turns out the Wendy's by us knows the small print on the Frosty cards (which we did not know)...and you have to order something from the menu to get the Frosty. Darn.  Daddy got a chili, but he was not willing to get 4 other things so we could all get Frostys.  Good thing our other Wendy's doesn't know this rule. Not that it matters. On Wednesdays we order more than 5 things.
All smiles over his new pink toothbrush from preschool. It was dental health day today and they all got free stuff from a dentist. Apparently Logan traded his friend for the pink one. Nice!
Someone is bringing in the black tip jaws tomorrow to show off in 2nd grade.  Thanks, Pops...glad we have these!  And special thanks to Shelb who is lending them out (somewhat reluctantly) for the day :)

Sunday...NYC Barb is here, movie afternoon, and a lazyish day, that didn't seem lazy enough

Look who's in Bloomy!  NYC Barb!  She's the next best thing to Hailey bc I think we actually get more pics of Barb from Hailey than of Hays herself :)  We are so glad she texted us and met up with us at church.  It was so fun to see her and her mom.  I hope she goes to IU next year...I know IU ballet will love her.
Proof that we get lots of pics of Barb from Hailey....this one was supposed to be of Hailey on her bday, but, again, Barb is the next best thing! :)
And the rest of our day....as usual some of it was spent in the van...too much if you ask me.  We had to run from church to get a quick lunch (Wendy's of course!) and then to violin....the kids and I sat in the van and played alphabetical eye spy :)  Don't knock it til you've tried it :)
Still playing hide n seek...and being crazy...the van makes us a little stir crazy :)
And bc movie night last night ended up being too late and we canceled, we made it movie afternoon with popcorn and root beer floats.  The kids were excited to see Moana finally.
It was nice to be in our pj's at 4pm and chill...well most of us chilled. I usually sit and get tasks checked off, but I just sat this time.  Poor Kev had to do (hopefully his last!) cub scout awards.
Goofiness at dinner....spaghetti funnies....daddy and Dyl were like father like son and got it on their shirts.
Shelb showed us what it was like to eat like a turtle...bc everyone wants to eat like a turtle :)
Prob the best part of the day was chatting with our fav. New Yorker...and since she doesn't send us any pics, we took one of her where she sits happily on our fireplace hearth.  Love you, Hays!

A lovely Saturday--Nina and Poppy are here, double ice cream (PJ free ice cream day)...

A nice Saturday.  The boys had to get up bright and early to head to cub scout rock climbing.  I think D had fun, but Kev was frustrated by disorganization.  D looks like he did good!
I think the boulder room was his fav.
I woke up to them playing a Paw Patrol guessing game...something about her guessing which one she'd pick up in her hand while not looking at it. He was amused.  Simple joys.
No intentions of making bfast, but it seemed like the motherly thing to do :)  Easy enough.
A lovely day....and they decided to make their own hurdles out of pvc in the garage.  LOL!  Nice form Shelb!
Maybe family hurdles should be a new thing :)
 Nice Asher!
You can see where this is going....
Ouch...so close, buddy...you almost cleared that hurdle!
I had to laugh....Ashley started a "fittens club". (fitness)  Apparently it was a girls only club.  But her fav sister wasn't in it (yet)...she was very clear about who the fav sister was today and she does not live here now :)
Maybe the ballet gene didn't skip sisters!?  LOL!  Ya' gotta give her bonus points for the dramatic flair!
Nina and Poppy are back for a week.  It was fun to see them and they took us out to ice cream at Jiffy Treat! Yumm!
And after dinner we headed out to ice cream again...this time at Brusters for free ice cream if you wear your pjs!  We did! And it was pouring out when we went, of course.  Nothing like pj's and ice cream in the rain!  Oh the things we do for ice cream :)

He let me stand under his fav umbrella :)

Aww, love this sweet sharing buddy :)
Then the rain stopped and the rainbow came out...so pretty :)
D tried a new one...I think it was cotton candy?
Pretty excited about our free ice cream....we even got free waffle cones if we wanted them.  Yumm!  It was delicious!  They have probably the best ice cream in town.  I got a St. Pat's special...mint fudge crunch.  Yummers!
Proof that daddy wore pjs.  He did not want to...he was willing to pay for his ice cream just not to wear them.  I might have guilted him :) But we showed up and one of our cub scout leaders was also there in his cub scout shirt and plaid pj paints.  And all the daddies were wearing pjs'  Good for daddy getting out of his comfort zone!
LOL!  He cracks me up.  We were bummed to see his is now over 40 inches and can't get a free ice cream every time he goes there.  Oh well! We make tall kids.
Love this family...just miss the one who isn't here.  Just know we ate some ice cream for you tonight, Hays! :)

A Fab. Friday! (now Saturday) :)...a slow Friday-day (chattin' with my mama) and spring ballet with my Asher!

Well, I'm a little over an hour late posting this. So be it.  But Friday was a good day.  I got to veg out with my baby boy...love this!  And I got to talk to my mom for like 4 hours!  We never get to do this. It was nice.  We caught up on everything....she listened to my woes, I listened to hers.  That's what mom-daughter-friends are for.  Good for the soul!  Love my mama.  And my Loggy was a sweet boy and just chilled.  He played cars and watched Octonauts...and basically made a big ol' mess of the loft!
He was so sweet...at school while we were waiting to pick up...he came over and said, "I just want to hug you, mama".  Seriously, this boy melts my heart.  He knows right what I need when I need it!  Thanks, buddy!
We had a nice teacher conference with D's science/history teacher over his forgetfulness and focus...and then we picked up the track star at school....then raced home...
Pops...any expertise on Hammerheads?  Ash is doing a report on them!  Though I thought Nina told us he had never caught one of these? True or False?
Someone is very excited to be helping at the Middle tonight at the Warehouse.  I guess it turned out she didn't do much cupcake help, but she did have fun at After Hours.
And I took my Asher girl to the Spring Ballet tonight. She was a little tentative about going to something other than Sleeping Beauty or the Nutcracker...but after Hailey said these ballets would be good, Ash accepted my invitation.  It was fun to get a little dolled up and have an evening with her. We have never done this.
Such a pretty girl...love her!
She abliged me with some pics...I bribed her a little with a fruit snack I had my purse :)  I'm not above bribery for making memories :) And I love pics by the MAC sign and with my fav. red sculpture behind!
L'Amour Mort...or something like that. I never looked up with it meant.  Does that mean "dead love"  I really don't know and am too tired to google it.
One more pic :)  hee hee.  I have to torture one ballerina since another is gone :)
Always the best pics against the red MAC wall :)
Her best smile bc (what you can't see see) is that she is holding the fruit snack she was waiting for!
My fav. ballet of the evening. Fanfare! I think SAB had done this a couple years ago for Workshop. I loved it.  I think Shelb would have enjoyed it.  Very cool musical piece.  I did feel bad for the "viola" that got dropped on her back/butt by her partner.  Ouch.
Ashley's fav of the evening was Giselle. I didn't think she would like this one, but she really enjoyed the thought and complexity of it.  She got really into analyzing it.  And was very bothered that the dead prince was not actually dead at the end.  I love that she thinks so much deeper about things.
Her idea...get free Frostys for dessert on the way home...and even better...we got 4 for two of us!  Well, sorta...ended up that when we got home, everyone was already home from picking up Shelby and they took my Frosty(s).  I got nothing :(  The life of a mom sometimes :)
I guess daddy took Lo into the Warehouse when picking up Shelb and he had some fun....this is a cool play area. This warehouse is awesome for kids of all ages
Hays and Barb...doing water coloring tonight for Fun SAB Friday!  Artsy!  Guess who's going to be visiting IU this weekend? Barb!  I hope we get to see her at church!  It'd be fun if she went to IU next year and we could make her our clone Hailey :)
